REHEARSALS

All Rehearsals will be held Thursdays 6:30pm-8:00pm and Saturdays 9:00am-12:30pm. Please ensure your child brings their script, a pencil, and are wearing appropriate shoes and clothes for movement.

Note: Rehearsals locations may vary throughout the semester; however, all will take place in Horizon West. There may be weeks where not all students are called to rehearse, based off of which scenes are being worked on. Rehearsals will be added nightly beginning November 11th for “Tech Week” at the performance venue. Tech Week rehearsals and performance dates are mandatory.

CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT

Your child must check in upon arrival to rehearsal by signing in with the production team at the front door. If you arrive early to the church please wait inside your car until someone from the production team is waiting outside.

• For children under 10 please accompany your child to sign in each rehearsal.
• Parents must sign their child out at the end of each rehearsal.
• Only approved adults will be allowed to sign a child out. If you need to add a name last minute please contact the production team.

REHEARSAL RULES

• Food & Beverage: Our rehearsal space does not allow food or drink inside. Please make sure you eat or have a snack before attending rehearsal. There is a drinking fountain that you can use if you get thirsty. If we do see your child with food we will kindly ask them to put it away. This is a nut free production! Please make sure there are no nut products brought with your child to rehearsals. Water is always allowed AND encouraged!

• Toys/Electronics: Please leave all toy distractions at home. This includes but is not limited to slime, video games, dolls, etc. The exception to this rule is your child may bring a quiet fidget or a book with them to rehearsal.

• Shoes Must Stay on Your Feet- Closed toe shoes are preferred, but we live in Florida, so if your child would like to wear a sandal we just ask that it is not a flip flop.

• Please respect the space and equipment- We use rented spaces and equipment (Mics, projectors, ect.) for this production. We would like to respect the space and equipment we 3 are using. We ask that children don’t touch anything that does not belong to them. Not following this rule may result in removal from the program.

ILLNESS

For general illness please use your best judgment. If your child is not feeling well please keep them at home. Please contact the production team as soon as possible to let us know they will not be attending rehearsal.

LIABILITY AND MEDIA

Safety is of our utmost importance; however, dance activities have an inherent risk of injury. Further, because of the physical nature of theater, there may be physical contact between directors, employees, staff, company members, instructors and students during rehearsals, shows, workshops, productions, and especially during vocal, dance or acting instruction.

Note: All Horizon West Theater Company volunteers that work directly with children have been cleared through a background check.

Photos and video may be taken throughout the rehearsal and performance period for promotional purposes.

BEHAVIOR

We want this to be a positive experience and create a safe environment for our cast and crew. To ensure this, all participants will be held to a code of conduct. Profanity, vulgar language, making fun of others or any other type of bullying behavior is unacceptable and will result in removal from the program.

Not respecting others personal space will result in a warning followed by removal from the program.

COSTUMES

There are no costume fees for this production; however, cast members may be asked to provide some personal items. This could include shoes, socks or undergarments to go under their costume (i.e leotard, shorts, tanktop)
