Position: Horizon West Theater Company Board of Directors Treasurer.

Part-Time Volunteer Position

Horizon West Theater Company, a small 501(c)(3) nonprofit community theater serving the area of Horizon West, Florida, is looking for an accounting professional to volunteer as Treasurer and member of our Executive Board of Directors.

The ideal candidate:

• Is passionate about nonprofits and volunteer work.
• Well qualified in basic accounting procedures and can work independently.
• Is a reliable, friendly, and enthusiastic team player.
• Demonstrates excellent organization and communication skills.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Accounting
• Budgeting for a small non-profit
• Bookkeeping and financial spreadsheets
• Tax Payments to State and IRS
• Annual 1099 distributions
• W-9 form invitations

Primary Responsibilities:

• The Treasurer is an essential part of the HWTC Board, and you will actively support our organization and demonstrate leadership in alignment with our mission, vision, and ethical principles.
• Maintain all financial records and accounts for Horizon West Theater Company.
• Review monthly Financial/Activity/Actual statements for anomalies.
• Attend monthly board meetings and provide reports on current account standings, and overall financial status of the company.
• Work with the Executive Board to create yearly company budgets, and individual production budgets for each one of our productions and programming.
• Assist President with check posting/debit transactions/deposits, approval of invoices to be paid, and the set-up and reimbursement of production costs to designers and other production team members.
• Support our Grants initiatives by creating and providing financial information needed to support requests.
